Train
Press keys and carriages couple on in order. Each sings as it passes the post.
What your kid practises: Sequence and order, made visible
Opens in a new tab. Nothing is sent anywhere while you play.
Why we made it
Press three keys and three carriages line up in exactly that order. Your child is looking at their own past actions, laid out left to right.
A post stands by the track, and each carriage sings as it passes. A child can watch one coming and know a note is about to happen — anticipation, several times per loop.
Nothing is ever lost. When the train is full, the front carriage rolls off ahead — and pressing its key brings it right back.
How to play together
- 1Press a few keys and watch the carriages couple on, in the order you pressed.
- 2Watch a carriage roll toward the post together — “here it comes!” — and wait for its note.
- 3Try the left arrow: the train turns around, and the song plays backwards.
Good to know
The toy runs in a browser tab, so a curious kid can still find these:
- Ctrl+Alt+Del — Windows always lets that through.
- The browser’s tabs and address bar (unless you use the kiosk launcher from GitHub).
- Swiping in from the screen edge on touchscreens.
